My mission is to utilize technology to develop future leaders and help people thrive in our volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous (VUCA) world. 

A Bit About Me

From the top down, S. R. Aurora combines complex adaptive systems science with agent-based modeling to reveal systemic patterns of inequalities, examine the effectiveness of plausible solutions, and recommend leadership actions to alleviate equity and equality. From the bottom up, she uses experiential learning theory to help leaders develop key competencies and improve leadership training and education. Overall, her works serve to advance four of the United Nations' sustainable development goals, #4 "Quality education," #5 "Gender equality," #8 "Decent work and economic growth," and #10 "Reduced inequalities."

S. R. Aurora earned her B.A. in Management and Chinese Studies at Wittenberg University, Springfield, OH. She graduated with highest honors in Summa Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa, and Omicron Delta Kappa. 

S.R. Aurora earned her doctorate in organizational behavior from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, OH. Here is more information about that...

S. R. Aurora joined Arizona State University as an Assistant Professor of Organizational Leadership. Since 2016, she has been a faculty affiliate in the Center for Social Dynamics and Complexity; the Center for Behavior, Institutions and the Environment; and the Julie Ann Wrigley Global Futures Laboratory. 

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

S.R. Aurora has published in high-quality peer-reviewed journals such as The Leadership Quarterly, Academy of Management Learning and Education, Journal of Management Education, and Business Ethics: A European Review.

 

Her works have been highly regarded by the Management Education & Development division of the Academy of Management, having received:

  • Best Symposium Award in 2017

  • Junior Faculty Best Paper Award in 2022

  • Global Forum Best Paper Award in 2023

 

Her other notable accomplishments include:

  •  Early Career Teaching Award and the Outstanding Teaching Award in the College of Integrative Sciences and Arts for teaching innovations

  • Faculty Women Association's Outstanding Faculty Mentor Award

  • The Badass Woman of ASU

  • A finalist for the Graduate College Outstanding Mentor Award for her work in mentoring undergraduate and graduate students
